S. A. Thornton is a family-run general builder and property maintenance firm based in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, serving Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge, Berrow, Brean and the surrounding villages. With more than 30 years in the trade, the business has built its reputation on honest pricing, reliable workmanship and getting jobs finished on time.
The brief
Despite three decades of steady work — extensions, kitchens and bathrooms, driveways and patios, fencing, painting, conservatories and general property maintenance — S. A. Thornton had never really needed a website. New work came almost entirely through word of mouth and repeat customers.
The brief was to give that reputation a proper home online: somewhere straightforward that showed the range of work on offer, made it obvious no job was too small, and made it easy for people to get in touch for a free estimate.
What we did
We built a clean, no-nonsense website structured around the services on offer, with a portfolio section to show the standard of finished work and genuine customer reviews front and centre.
Getting a quote needed to be effortless, so we kept the estimate request form simple and put a phone number within easy reach on every page. We also built the site with local search in mind, targeting searches for builders and property maintenance in Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge, Berrow and Brean.
